I wrote another report on a distinctly different experience in dealing with some A/C problems under the Bellaire A/C provider report area. There is an excellent background there on the behavior of both companies that I won't repeat here, but suffice it to say that AirTech put their competition to shame in solving a major, ongoing problem for our household. We'd begin struggling with getting out bottom two floors to cool properly for over a year. We eventually felt like the provider we were using was not going to ever give us a permanent solution to our problems, to the point where we couldn't even get an estimate on the necessary repairs, so we went back to Angie's List for another option. The reviews on AirTech were positive, so we contacted them for another estimate. They came out the following morning, 5/17, and surveyed our A/C situation. The repairmen noted our damages and problems and offered up that he felt the problems, while not cheap were certainly pretty obvious to see if someone who knew what they were doing cared to look. Turns out we had problems with a major freon leak in our attic and some kind of issue with coilng and even some duct work problems. AirTech offered to do the repairs the same day, especially since we have children in the house and a freon leak isn't something to ignore. We agreed to have them do the work. AirTech was true to its word. They finished the repairs by 1:30 in the afternoon after they had told us they'd be done by 2 that morning. Our house was cool without maxing out the A/C first time in over a year. This is going to help our comfort levels and our electricity bills. The total bill was $2600, so they certainly were paid for their work, but they clearly deserved the compensation. The experience with them versus the prior provider was night and day. It was such a stark experience that we felt compelled to write reviews on both companies so that folks in the same area can get a better picture of who does and doesn't care about solving problems for customers with A/C needs in Houston.
